Beauty - An Essential Ingredient For Choosing A Spouse

Marriage is a long and protracted road. There are many years ahead of the bride and groom after they say, "I do". Many things are going to happen and much 'water is going to pass under the bridge'. " I want to marry a beautiful girl." This is the heart's desire of most men. Conversely, many of these wannabe husbands do not know the basics of beauty.

There is one thing that all men look for when choosing a spouse - whether they admit it or not. And that is BEAUTY .Every man wants to marry a beautiful girl. Some people will never admit that the beauty and attractiveness of the young lady were crucial in making their decision. Why? I can't just tell. Marriage is not something you must endure but something you must enjoy. Therefore, you must go in for your best shot. You must marry somebody who looks nice to you.

Let me now share with you the ABC's of beauty.

1. Beauty is vain because it will fade. Beauty is really something that is temporary. Though vain, it is however, very important. One reason being that you will look upon her until you die.

2. Women must understand that their beauty is important in getting and keeping their husband's attention. If you had to look fine and first-rated to get him, then you will have to be extra fine to keep him.

3. Every one is beautiful. Accept what you are, and believe that you are beautiful because God made you.

4. When people tease you because of your looks, they are probably jealous of you. This is because you have something they don't have and they envy you. Look at yourself in the mirror, and admire yourself. There is no need to change any part of your body.

5. Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. Beauty depends on who is looking. Every one must be confident about his or her choice, since it depends on you.

6. Each age comes with its own beauty. At each age, a person possesses a particular beauty. Please do not wish that your wife would be eighteen years old again. Be content with what you have. People usually think that you can only be beautiful when you are very young, but that is not true.

7. Beauty is like a flower. Beauty has a point at which it blooms like a stunning flower. There is that age in a woman's life we call the flower of her age, or the flower of her beauty. That is when she is most conspicuous. That is when she is most beautiful, and when men propose to her. Please my dear women, let the development of your minds and your maturity correspond to the development of your beauty! Remember that the peak of your beauty is indeed like a flower - it is temporary. A time will come when you will want to marry anything that is wearing trousers.

8.Beauty is very variable. It depends on many factors. A lady's dress today may make her look outstanding. Her hair style tomorrow may make her loose marks. Even the entire happiness of the lady affects her looks!

9. External beauty depends on inner beauty. If you are beautiful inside it shows on the outside. Look at what is inside in addition to the outward appearance, because it is the two things together that make a person truly beautiful.

10. Beauty is given in portions. Your portion will include some things, while excluding others. For example: You may know a friend's wife who is very good when visitors come home. You may admire the way she receives, chats and talks with the guests. You may appreciate her confidence and range of knowledge on political issues. But you may find that she is not able to cook jolly well. Her stews may be like soups, and her soups like stews! Ahaahaha!

11. Finally, if you ever have to choose between beauty and spirituality, choose the latter. It is the woman who fears the Lord who will be praised. The spiritual person who knows and fears God will become more and more attractive to you as the years go by.Beauty has very little to offer, apart from what you see!

Perfect Beauty - What It Is, And How To Get It

There is a fundamental problem in how most people view beauty. Experts say that we should not obsess about having the "perfect" body or the "perfect" look. They could not be more WRONG. We should instead consider, what is perfect? Who decided what perfect is? And what is the ulterior motive or hidden agenda to the promotion of this so-called "perfection"? The truth of the matter is that there is no such thing as perfect. There never was, and there never will be. What women are killing themselves for is not perfection, but a mere set of arbitrary standards. This standardization was put forth by some forces that have no interest in womens' health or well being.

I don't know about you, but I am not a bathtub or a bed sheet that is required to be a certain size or shape to meet its purpose. Did you ever wonder who creates the ridiculous beauty standards like a certain hair color or body shape? How can it possibly be that only one set of standards constitutes beautiful, so too bad for the rest of us? Who decides what the "perfect nose" looks like? The nose we should all aspire to have, regardless of our many other features? Magazines earn their billions of dollars in advertising revenues from cosmetics companies who make their billions of dollars by selling us products to make our noses look more "perfect", or plastic surgeons who carve our noses into the "perfect" shape and size. Their strategy is to constantly keep women feeling inadequate and striving for some unattainable standards to keep sales up.

Consider this insanity: What if we had beauty standards for FLOWERS! What is a "perfect" flower? What if they said it is cotton candy pink, with 1.25-inch oblong petals, 3mm thick? So should we all run around and dye all the pretty yellow, orange, purple or white flowers in our gardens to match the cotton candy pink ones? And how about we go out there with our scissors and cut down the large petaled flowers or add petal extensions to the small petaled flowers so they meet the standard of 1.25 inches just so they can be considered "perfect"?

Stop this madness and appreciate the beauty you have. Blonde hair and a skinny ass are not beauty. Some beautiful people have blonde hair and a skinny ass, yes. But some butt-ugly people have blonde hair and a skinny ass. Some drop-dead gorgeous people do not have blonde hair or a skinny ass. Sets of standards absolutely cannot determine whether a person is beautiful or not. We don't do this with flowers, so why do it with yourself?

The external signs of beauty, such as clear skin, shiny hair, and strong nails are reflections of overall health. Happiness and confidence play a huge role in beauty. Joyful people tend to have a sparkle in their eyes and a special sensual magnetism that draws others to them regardless of what they look like. Taking care of yourself is the number one most important in manifesting outer beauty. Here is a step-by-step guide to freeing yourself from the clutches of the greedy beauty industry and getting started on enjoying your true beauty.

• Completely and unequivocally shut down ALL commercial media as a reliable source for information about what is beautiful and what is not. Look at media as for entertainment purposes ONLY and assume that there is no truth whatsoever to the messages you will get from it about beauty. LAUGH OUT LOUD every time you see and hear messages of praise of certain looks and attempts to set up a specific female archetype such as, but not limited to things like, blonde hair, underweight bodies, and pointy chins. The same goes for the negative attempts at setting up the female archetype by excluding or rendering unacceptable other physical characteristics that do not fit into their ridiculous manufactured female (Barbie doll) archetype.

• Remember that fat does not mean ugly and thin does not mean pretty.

• Begin looking for beauty more subjectively. Look at each physical feature in perspective with all the other features. For example, you may not think that a wide nose may not look cute just by itself, but on the right smooth dark chocolate face, it will likely be absolutely gorgeous.

• Be kind to yourself and others. Do not judge everyone you see. There is no need to avoid paying attention to looks altogether, but try not to constantly put primary emphasis on looks. Allow yourself to notice non-physical beauty in yourself and others.

• Pick out your three least attractive features. Consider them carefully: Are your unfavorable thoughts about those features because they are really ugly to you? Or is it just because somebody else said it was ugly OR you heard somebody criticize a similar feature on someone else? Have you been told day in, day out, verbally or nonverbally, intentionally hurtful or not, that the feature in question is unacceptable simply because it is not on the list of "desirable" attributes determined by the industry? For example, attributes such as a front tooth gap, thick hair, freckles, or a succulent figure are by no means ugly, but the beauty industry wants you to think so in order to sell you something. Perhaps those least attractive features are not so bad after all. If they are indeed so bad, just get over it. Do not focus on them 24/7. You have many other things that make you beautiful.

• Although it is fine to use cosmetics to enhance your looks, stop giving your money to companies that exclusively portray certain limited body types and characteristics as beautiful and expressly or impressly tell you that you are inadequate because you do not fit the standards that they themselves established. Stop buying products that rely on objectifying or exploiting womens' and girls' bodies to peddle their wares. And, go a step further and write to the companies and explain to them exactly why you are putting them out of business.

• Look at online photos of celebrities without makeup. They will make you feel like a beauty queen! Have you seen Pamela Anderson sans the paint? Whoa.

Only you have the power to change your attitude about beauty and when you succeed and doing so, everyone around you will take notice. They won't know whether you got a haircut, whitened your teeth, or if you fell in love. All they will notice is that special glow emanating from you as a result of your newly found self-confidence and true beauty.

Beauty is one of the most difficult term to define yet one of the easiest terms to understand. We all know what is beautiful and what is not. It does not take a second for a person to say if a girl, a child, a man , a place, a song or a poem is beautiful or not. Yet we hardly know why it is beautiful. All we know is that we like beautiful things and feel good when we see or hear something beautiful.

Random House dictionary, defines "beauty" as a characteristic present in a person, place, object or idea that provides a perceptual experience of pleasure, meaning or satisfaction to the mind or to the eyes, arising from sensory manifestations such as a shape, color, personality, sound, design or rhythm.

Yet no one knows, what are these characteristics that make a thing beautiful? Since beauty is based on the perception of the person, it is often said that beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. Beauty is also considered to be only skin deep which means that beauty is superficial and it lacks any substance.

The opposite of beauty is ugly i.e. what gives us a bad feeling. When we see an ugly thing, we just don't like it and want to close our sensual perception and mind from that thing. Jules Henri Poincare, a famous French mathematician and scientist said

"The scientist does not study nature because it is useful; he studies it because he delights in it, and he delights in it because it is beautiful. If nature were not beautiful, it would not be worth knowing, and if nature were not worth knowing, life would not be worth living."

The discovery of truth is, therefore, to with the beauty it holds. For a scientist, the universe is not a dead object but he sees beautiful pattern and aesthetics in the nature, which helps him find the secrets of nature. While most of the people find the world as an ugly place due to its imperfectness like inequality, injustice, disorder, a poet sees the same world as beautiful and creates poetry. A poet can only make beautiful poetry, if he finds beauty in nature and human beings. A logical person or a critique of the world can never find these truth of the world as he can never see beauty in this world.

The Evidence of Beauty

Since beauty needs no logic, people often accuse beauty of being superficial. The rational people or scientists accept no facts to be true unless proven objectively by experiments and investigations. They often blame the perceptions of beauty as biased and prejudiced which has developed in the people in the process of evolution.

We all know that a human body looks beautiful, if it is within a particular range of body weight depending upon the height of the person. We don't find the body beautiful, if it is either too thin or too fat. Yet we can't say why only a particular weight should make the body beautiful? However, the scientists have discovered that what we perceive as beautiful is actually the best body weight for health and longevity. Thus, the perception of beauty is not superficial as it is supported by robust scientific research. If, we can imagine how we, can perceive beauty of the body, we can easily notice that our perception of beauty perhaps vary in the same proportion as the effect of body weight on health as if our mind already knows what is good for the body even without going through the long process of research.

Once a scientist described to Einstein, how long years of experimentation and research lead to the discovery of the scientific theory. The wife of Einstein promptly remarked that her husband (Einstein) would have developed the same theory on a piece of paper. Einstein never conducted any experiments, but developed the soundest of the scientific theories from the imagination of his mind as man himself a replica of the universe.

We all have the inherent capability to distinguish the good from the evil and the truth from the untruth by our ability to see beauty. When we eat an apple, we don't have to send it to laboratory to know if it is rotten or fresh. We can simply by looking at it can know that it is fresh. What is Good?

The first thing to understand is what is good? We can define goodness from the perspective of self and the world. One can be good to the world, if his actions are for the good of the world. Similarly, one can also be good if his actions are good for him. An ugly man, therefore, must be one who is not only bad for the world but also bad for himself.

However, we can argue, why one would like to do anything that is harmful to self. Yet there is no dearth of such actions. For example, if one eats too much and become obese, it is surely not good for his own health. Similarly smoking, additions etc are also not good for one's own self. All selfish actions are initially good for the person but gradually become bad for him, if these actions are not good for the society. The challenge thus lies in finding a way that is not only good for self but also good for the society. All successful persons and businessman finds a way to find their good in the goods of others. For example, Bill Gates is the richest person in the world, not by doing any harm to the society but by bringing tremendous benefit to the society. As a consequence, he also became a rich man.

However, when a person focuses only on selfish benefit without any concern for the world, he creates an imbalance in the world that makes the person bad. This leads to the path of untruth and evil. Such a person gradually becomes unattractive and ugly as the evil starts getting reflected on his body and the face.

What is good also depends on the person and the situations. A sunny day many look beautiful in the cold winters and cold countries but extremely unattractive for the people of the tropical and warm countries. The woman may look extremely beautiful to a lover but only ordinary to other men and women. Hills may be beautiful for the people living in the plain or in hotter places but may look unattractive to the native who may find the modern world of malls and urban life more attractive. A western music may be attractive to some but repulsive to others.

Thus our perception to beauty has also a purpose. The attraction depends not only the object of beauty but also our mental makeup. We find beauty in things that complements ourselves. It force of attraction due to beauty can be compared with the force of attraction of the electric changes. The opposite attracts and once they meet they neutralize each other. So often we are attracted towards something which we lack. Often, we are not even aware what is missing unless we find something attractive. The beauty is thus a guide to achieve the missing something in us so that we can have more fulfilling and contented life.

They risk their own life to create a new life.

We also find that all children are beautiful. It is not a mere a coincidence that all children are also good. They love every creation of the world including innate objects like dolls, toys and animals. Most of the cartoon films and the children's film show kindness to animals. Yet as a man grows, he losses his beauty, if he starts losing goodness.

The concept was not readily accept and believe by me for more than a decade but eventually it did sink in. But even the thought of not being beautiful, it did not close any doors that supposed to be open for me in any way because inside I know that I am a very special individual.

So to feel that you are beautiful you need to redefine your definitions of beauty. Ask yourself if you have the kind of beauty that you dream of, what difference if any that brings to your life?

Fearful of what they will encounter, they see a world filled with anger, hostility and ugliness, and because this is what they see, this is what becomes real for them, and they continue to live as their self fulfilling prophecy would have it be.

Neglecting their own beauty, they have swallowed a nightmare pill which alters dramatically the world in which they see. Turning away from the spirit, they have chosen to embrace the ego, which sees things always in a distorted light. With power and strength to gain for itself, the ego is devoted not to searching for beauty, but to finding that which can build it up in the eyes of the world. Concerned with the physical world and pleasing those within it, it is not at all interested in the wisdom of the spirit.

Not wanting to be the protagonist in its own demise, the ego has a vested interest in keeping the true source of beauty from your eyes. Not wanting you to experience the awe that beauty inspires, it seeks to keep you in a state of boredom where you ask no questions of life. Asking no questions, you cease to interact with life, and you deprive yourself of the answers that God wants to give to you. This is what it means to be reactive to life, and to suffer in the process.

Called to be proactive, we do not grow in our experience of life, if we have closed ourselves off to what it seeks to teach us. Wanting to show us the beauty in the world and in ourselves, it is a willing teacher, but a teacher has no role to occupy without a student in attendance. This is why we must be open-minded in beauty's presence. With much to give, there is much to learn about the beauty of God which manifests itself in all things.

It is said that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. What this means to me is that each of us has the capacity to find beauty in different things. What some label beautiful, others might label ugly, and vice versa. But does it really matter what verdict is passed on whether something is pleasing to the eye or not? What matters absolutely is the seed of beauty to be found in all things that God has created. With the beauty of the creator pervading each of his creations, that beauty is definitely there to see. The question then becomes what is the quality of the vision of the observer?

Many are capable of seeing the beauty in all that surrounds them, but even more are not. Selective in what they ascribe the label 'beautiful' to, these people have chosen to honour the mind above the heart, which is all to discriminating. Seeing more than the mind is capable of seeing, the heart knows that it is futile to judge, because it realizes that judgment passed on that which appears in a diminished light is falsely condemned. Seeing only a portion of the whole, much is misunderstood; and embracing only a part, much is rejected as irrelevant. See in this, the dangerous game that we play when we choose to have the ego's eyes be the filter with which we view the world.

Seeing only fragments of beauty that it has contaminated through its own judgment, much is discarded, and even less honoured, for God cannot be seen by that which despises his presence. Wanting you not to see him, the ego will lead you to label as ugly, much that is beautiful in appearance and substance.

Intense in its loathing, the ego is not always rational in its judgment, and even in its certainty, it misses much to be appreciated. See in this how the ego's arrogance often leads it to abandon that which could otherwise serve it. Cursed in its blindness, it makes not for wise counsel to the one who searches for a deeper experience of life.

Wanting to experience love, one must consult the heart, being the centre of beauty inside the self. Being not separate from God, it is the gift that God has given us to enjoy the world. Blessed with much, we can find much joy when we look upon the world with spiritual eyes. Hindered not by that which are the ego's shortcomings, we can see the love behind the barriers, and the distinctions which make the miraculous commonplace.

Blessed in spirit, we must not take for granted that which is capable of teaching us who we truly are. Endowed with wisdom, all of God's creations are capable teachers, and assuming not a separate identity from him, they are models to be emulated. With this, learn that beauty is distorted as the separation is affected. So as you travel far from him, so will your ability to experience beauty diminish in strength.

Concerned primarily with attaching labels in the moment, what eludes you is the beauty inherent in entering the moment. To enter the moment, is to join with God in your heart, and see what he sees in the physical world. With all that he created being good, you are then able to see the love that pervades everything in the light of the spirit. Appreciating everything just as it is, you understand that it is enough and that the ego does not have to be invited to enhance what is complete in itself.

Complete, the gifts of God are holy in what they hold and what they deliver. Endowed with beauty, they bring to the lost man, much that is invaluable. Longing for God, those who are lost, suffer in their desperation. Convinced of their own ugliness, the memories of their eternal beauty slip into the past. But the past is not lost forever, for every illusion stands to be corrected, and as a partner with eternity, it will not fail to reveal itself in a touch that the moment has in store, for the child who sees clearly now, not yearning for more.

One of the most memorable times that I recall beauty touching me deeply was in Florence when I went to see Michelangelo's David. I had heard from many people how wonderful this classical piece of sculpture was, but hearing a second hand account doesn't really prepare you for the effect that it has on the soul, when you see it in person. To say that I was taken aback by its beauty would be an understatement. I was left absolutely speechless! To think that one man saw this masterpiece in that block of marble and saw it as his purpose to bring it to life for all to enjoy is awe inspiring to me.

But as I was standing there, just gazing up at the masterwork, I knew not the distraction of thought that attempted to persuade my mind to intellectualize how the work was brought to life. This allowed me to centre myself and let the profound beauty that emanated from the shiny white surface, move my spirit powerfully in the moment. And as I just allowed the moment to touch me, I felt for a moment just how Michelangelo must have felt with the chisel in his hand and the spirit in his heart, for as I am not alone with my pen, he was not alone with his tools, for with every incision had God's hand revealed itself so gently and lovingly.

All in all, I spent about an hour in the company of David, listening only to the silence which was my teacher. And as I meditated on what had greeted my senses, I felt a deep sense of appreciation begin to emerge, and as my eyes began to well up with tears, my constant companion placated my fears that I would miss something, a moment, which taught me who I am, not alone in war, but beautiful and fair.

To know Michelangelo must have been to be in the company of a great lover. Here was a man who made it his life's purpose to serve the world by making manifest in physical form, the love that he carried inside. How else can you explain it? To look into the eyes of David is to know without a shadow of a doubt that he was conceived in love, and because it was this love that filled Michelangelo's heart, the conception was inevitable.

With this, understand that love never leaves beauty unexpressed, for that is not love's way. And in the same way that love will never leave beauty unexpressed, so will it never leave the witnesses to that beauty untouched, for the heart that was inspired to bring the beauty to life, is in no way separate from the heart of the witness who has seen in that beauty a clear image of themself revealed.

See in this, how all embodiments of beauty carry a reflection that is not one dimensional. If you were to observe a rose, you would be moved by the beauty of that rose, but what has moved you is not limited to the petals, stem and thorns which make up that rose. What you receive from that rose is an experience of the beauty of nature which is in no way separate from all that the rose is, because nature is the essence of its being. And as it is with the rose, so it is with you, because nature is the very essence of who you are. As God has breathed life into the rose, so has God breathed life into you, and in it you get a glimpse of not only its glory, but your glory as well, which is a stranger not to the glory of God.

Endowed with all that is beautiful, do not doubt what is yours to give, and as you awake from your slumber, so will your brothers and sisters enjoy a more peaceful rest. Not tormented by their hideous nightmares, a new joy will emerge in the form of a dream that is not isolated in how it comes to bless them. As beauty multiplies, so does its visions, in the mind that has unified itself with the heart.

Filled with this love, joy replaces sorrow and gratitude replaces judgment, for as the Lord has spoken, you need not open your mouth to speak. Speaking in glorious tongues, you are left in no doubt that what he has to say is real. Beautiful in its composition, it is undeniably powerful in its resonance. Teaching your heart, the mind finds rest, subsumed by the grace that has cradled it, and when it awakes, immense beauty awaits it, in both its relationship to the physical and the infinite which know no divide. Being what beauty has conquered, love has done its work, through the eye of the spirit that cannot be blinded to the world's worth.

Embodying Beauty

How is it we've come to believe that there are some people
who are beautiful and others who are not? Does it really
make any sense that measuring tapes, bathroom scales,
clothing sizes, and calorie-counts hold the power to
determine whether or not we're worthy of love? What drives
us to spend countless hours and dollars to recolor, reshape
and resize our bodies, over and over again? Why has the
beauty of who we are become so difficult to see?

The mother earth has something to say about
beauty that's free of judgment and unburdened by fears.
Bears don't worry about the shape of their bodies.
Dragonflies aren't distressed by the size of their wings. Oak
trees don't attempt to look more like the pines. Vultures
aren't hiding behind pretenses, pretending to do something
other than what it is that they do. The mother earth reveals
beauty that's filled with integrity, that honors the rich diversity
in the web of life.

Beauty sings out from the sunsets and echoes in
the wind and rains down from the moon and dances in the
sea and whispers on wings and howls with coyotes and
weaves webs with the spiders and lingers in the scent of
the sage. Beauty calls out from the mountains and rumbles
with thunder and sits quietly with the lizards and soars with
the hawks and radiates from the rocks and buzzes with the
bees and glistens in the shimmering dawn.

Beauty comes alive in the free, unencumbered
expression of being just who you are. In the mother earth's
beauty, there are no winners and losers, no blue ribbons or
first-runner-ups. There are no better thans or less thans.
No too much of this and not enough of that. Beauty is
simply the honoring of what is, a celebration of life in all it's
magnificent, mysterious, remarkable forms.

Mother Earth's exuberant expression is a
compelling invitation to open up to our own natural beauty.
Beauty is found in the feeling of who we are, in the essence
of our uniqueness. It's not all tangled up in comparisons
and competition. There are no molds to squeeze into.
There's no suffering and sacrifice. Beauty just isn't that
complicated.

Beauty simply is. Beauty is energy, an expressive
vibration, a sensual awareness that resonates with the
essence of life.

Remember the last time you experienced Mother
Earth's beauty? Maybe seeing the full moon. Smelling
spring rains. Tasting wild berries. Breathing fresh air.
Hearing the tree frogs call in the night.

Remember how you felt?

How full of beauty you felt?

How beauty-full you felt?

Remember. How beautiful. You felt.

Beauty resonates within us and ripples out into the
world when we honor other beings for being just who they
are. Beauty radiates from within when we simply are who
we are, emanating clear self-awareness and unconditional
regard. No judgments. No hiding. No looking out-there for
some official stamp of approval. Just resonating beauty.
No if-onlys or yes-buts involved.

So next time we're about to step on the scale or
look in the mirror to figure out how much beauty we've got,
we can remember to redirect our attention to how we're
feeling inside. We can bring back our knowing of beauty,
remembering how beautiful we felt, that abundant,
expansive feeling of the heart that resonates with the
essence of life. Filling ourselves up with the feeling of
beauty, we are beautiful, instantly. It's a matter of choice, of
where we're putting our attention, of what we're allowing
ourselves to feel. Beauty thrives in acceptance and
unhindered self-expression. Beauty comes alive when we
simply honor who we are - all of who we are, exactly as we
are - in the here and now.
